Why are the two slits on my seat cover when I only need one for my seatbelt?

Those slits are actually for the child safety restraint latches, not for the seatbelt. Your bottom cushion cover should allow access for your seatbelt buckle. Do not try to pass the seatbelt buckle through the child restraint cut-out.
